Tourism Services

Ragusa lies in the southernmost part of Sicily. Its territory borders on Catania and Siracusa, and from the Iblean plateau it reaches down to the Mediterranean, which laps against its beautiful sandy beaches. Tourism in this area offers an almost uncontaminated nature, little known archaeological sites, baroque and neo-classic architecture, land covered with secular olive trees and carob trees, artisans still preserving ancient and disappearing crafts, and excellent DOP (protected origin denomination) produce. In June-July, Ragusa hosts the International Musical Awards “Ibla Grand Prize”, with performances by musicians from all over the world. In September-October it hosts a buskers festival “Ibla Buskers”, and in December the “International Organ Festival”. In May-June, every two years, it also hosts the “Cheese Art”, an international event promoting our local excellent cheeses.
